Athlete Education
Welcome to the home of Athlete Education at the UDDHA Academy. Here you will find a range of activities, courses and resources that have been designed to support the three core stages of the athlete journey
Helping athletes reach their goals
Whether you are a young player starting out, a current senior international athlete or you have retired from playing hockey, our aim is to support you with education, guidance and mentoring opportunities.
ONLINE E-Learning
We provide online e-learning courses on a range of essential and complementary subjects. E-learning is designed to be accessed at any time of the day or night, so you have total flexibility where, when and how you learn.
ONLINE Workshops & Courses
Online workshops and courses take place at a specific time and date. They are usually limited to 12, 14, or 16 participants and are facilitated by one or two of our FIH Educators. They encourage interaction through real-time virtual sessions.
FACE 2 FACE Workshops & Courses
Face 2 Face workshops and courses, as the name suggests, take place in person at a specific location, time and date that is appropriate to the level and subject area. They offer hands-on learning with expert guidance.
Athlete Education Framework
We have a wide range of athlete development and qualification options that all sit within the UDDHA Academy Athlete Education Framework (AEF). The AEF has 3 stages, based around the athlete participation journey from initiation to post career and life-long learning.
Mental Health for Athletes
The UDDHA Academy works closely with IOC Athlete365. A range of comprehensive resources and courses are available to access free of charge to athletes and entourage. Click boxes below to link to the programme on the Athlete365 platform.
Safe Hockey for Athletes
The UDDHA recognises the Hockey Family's right to respect, safety and protection. Every member of the hockey family has a right to participate in a safe and respectful hockey environment, whether they are a player, coach, official, staff or volunteer.
